UNC Tar Heels

Oh yes, they are my team. I have loved them for over half a decade, closely following their football, basketball, and baseball seasons. I cheered when they won the NCAA Basketball Championship 2 years ago, and I likewise wept when they lost last week to Georgetown in the Elite Eight in the NCAA Basketball Tournament. Yes, they are out. But before you brush this post away as sentimental fluff (which it is), let me give you some information that would cause you to appreciate their progress.

The Carolina 'Heels entered this season with a team full of unexperienced freshmen. With only 2 seniors and 3 sophmores, the 'Heels were not expected to go anywhere. Young teams are good...for the future. But Carolina's freshmen (Ty Lawson, Brandon Wright, Ellington, and more) lifted the team to win the ACC Championship game (which is their division) and take a 1st place seed in the national tournament. They cruised to the Elite Eight, defeating all opponents by at least 10 points. And then came the game for the Final Four. #1 UNC vs. a more experienced #2 Georgetown. The game went down the wire. Not just to the wire, but to overtime. But Carolina lost their handle, and fell to Georgetown 96-84 in OT. But it was not without much effort, struggle, and work to get there. Watch out, America. UNC will be a national championship team in one or two years. The 'Heels will be unleashed.

Random Information:
Tyler Hansborough (sophmore center for UNC) looks a lot like my best friend Luke LaPlant, who makes me look like a amature at basketball. (Which I am, heh.) Also, Tyler is probably the teams most valuable player, and he could make it big in the NBA.

Ok, I am done. Bedtime for Ethan. More tomorrow. Shutting up. :-)

lol Sweet! Go Tarheels! :)

Have you heard of the Warriors, Ethan? They're the college team in Lewiston, which is about two hours south of us. They're an amazing baseball team! I can't remember their stats off the top of my head, but they sweep *every* *single* team they play against. They're SO cool. :) They're my college baseball team.

They might have a football team as well, although I'm not sure(surprise, surprise, lol).

See you in July!!!! :D

It is at this point that I start nodding my head sagely and pretend I know what you're talking about. ;-)
